The subscription rates from September 1, 2012 are:

We do not accept cancellation of subscriptions. There are no refunds.

The subscription for THE HINDU e-paper can be done either through ONLINE Subscription (Credit Card / Debit Card / NetBanking using any one of the Payment Gateways ICICI, Citrus or BillDesk ) or by Offline Subscription (Transfer Using NEFT / Direct transfer method (WIRE) / DD). We need a valid email id to activate your account.

After successful transaction, Hindu Online Payment Receipt will popup in next new tab on your Internet Browser and it should be shown for any dispute. (So kindly turn-off “Popup Blocker” before the registration of New subscription or Renewal process). Please see the sample test receipt file.

2. Offline subscription using NEFT/RTGS Transfer: (e-paper Activation takes one/two days)

If you have Internet Banking facility, you may initiate direct transfer to our Hindu account. The activation will be done after one or two days. Please fill up the following details and send it by email.

4. Offline subscription using Demand Draft (DD):

A Demand Draft should be payable at Chennai in favour of Kasturi and Sons Limited. The activation will be provided as soon as the credit is received in our account.

The Hindu, India's national newspaper since 1878, published by Kasturi & Sons Ltd, launched its e-paper or digital edition on September 10, 2006.

What does the digital edition of The Hindu, or e-paper, offer the reader?

The newspaper itself, nothing less - delivered online. You can see each page as it appears in the print edition. This means all the reports, articles, photographs, and other graphics have been organised, laid out, and presented according to their importance, with the appropriate typography and design elements. You can also see the advertisements as they appear on the page.

Nine editions of the newspaper - Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada, Kochi and Delhi - are available in digital form.

They are available for viewing at 6 a.m., Indian Standard Time (IST) every day.

The e-paper has been developed for The Hindu by Ninestars Information Technologies Ltd. and IBM using state-of-the-art technology and offering high resolution and versatile features.

Whole pages, articles, photographs and other images can be viewed in .pdf and .jpg format, and articles can also be read as text. You can make use of the Internet's powerful feature - search. The e-paper offers you search in several forms: You can look for something specific using the search engine.

You can also track stories in your areas of interest by setting your preferences for “My News,” a news tracking feature. You can clip articles and photos for future reference and can email them to a friend.

The archive offers a month's back issues of the digital editions of The Hindu.

“Read offline” feature:

Please login into e-Paper site and see the “Read offline” link at the bottom of the page to initiate full download on your desktop. This file is in zip format and use any unzip tool to extract the consolidated single pdf file.

This feature remains active during the entire subscription period. If you try to renew your subscription after its expiry, it will not be enabled automatically and in this case, you may enable “Read offline” feature yourself, by clicking Services -> My preferences. Click the “Read Offline” option to Yes and Click “Save” button...
